Maintenance Technician II: Painter

Green Valley Recreation has an opening for a Maintenance Technician with specialty in painting. Painter performs skilled painting, refinishing, and surface repair work across GVR facilities. This role prepares, paints, and restores interior and exterior surfaces, troubleshoots finish issues, and completes medium scale projects with limited supervision. The technician also supports general maintenance tasks as needed to ensure buildings and fixtures remain safe, functional, and well maintained.

Essential Job Functions

  • Plan and complete work orders and update status of repairs in a timely fashion and per company policy/procedure.
  • Follow all company personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety policies.
  • Maintain building systems including drains, pipes, faucets, and fixtures for all facilities.
  • Perform carpentry work including framing, door and shelf installation, and furniture assembly.
  • Paint and/or touch up walls as needed.
  • Monitor HVAC systems, conduct maintenance, and make repairs based on experience and certifications.
  • Repair and maintain appliances as needed.
  • Check that electrical lock out/tag out procedures are met and electrical repairs are being made by qualified individuals.
  • Comply with state and local OSHA, fire, and other regulations.
  • Request needed parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Manage preventative maintenance projects as assigned.

Ancillary Job Functions

  • Assist with training of new technicians and with cross-training.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Required Qualifications – Required qualifications to effectively perform the job. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. (Additional requirements may be designated by position.)

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum three years of relevant work experience.
  • Trade certification in applicable discipline and/or related certifications preferred.
  • Must maintain a valid, current driver’s license.
  • Must maintain current CPR AED certification.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities – May be representative, but not all-inclusive, of those knowledge, skills and abilities commonly associated with this position.

  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot equipment and systems.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools and/or hand-held power tools.
  • Heavy equipment knowledge preferred.
  • Knowledge of circuitry, pipe bending, and lighting repair.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, MicroMain, and other relevant computer applications.
  • Must be fluent in the English language.
  • Ability to work varying shifts including weekends, as needed.
  • Strong initiative, motivation, and self-discipline.

 

Work Environment – Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.

  • Must be able to perform outdoors in variable weather conditions.
  • May be exposed to chemicals, gases, steam, and fumes.
  • Must be able to perform with standard equipment noise.

  • Requires clarity of vision, three-dimensional vision, precise hand-eye coordination, and the ability to identify and distinguish colors.
  • May be required to lift or maneuver up to 100 pounds.
