Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components according to detailed blueprints and technical drawings. Duties
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine project specifications.
- Perform welding using various techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards.
- Fabricate metal components by cutting, shaping, and assembling sheet metal and other metal materials using plasma cutters, power tools, and machining equipment.
- Measure materials precisely with calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently during assembly, welding, and fabrication processes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the fabrication shop while following safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with team members on project assembly, quality control, and troubleshooting fabrication issues to meet project deadlines.
Requirements
- Proven construction site experience or background in metal fabrication environments.
- Proficiency in welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints accurately.
- Knowledge of ASME codes & standards related to metal fabrication and welding practices.
- Experience with plasma cutting, machining, sheet metal fabrication, and assembly processes.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools.
- Mechanical knowledge of metal materials, fabrication shop operations, and safety protocols adherence.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills including shop math necessary for precise measurements and calculations.
- Construction site experience preferred but not mandatory; a strong foundation in mechanical fabrication is essential.
- Certification or training in AWS standards or equivalent welding certifications is highly desirable.
- Must own your own welding hood. Employer does not provide hoods to welders.
