Duties
- Record and process journal entries accurately using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations to ensure data integrity
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently
- Assist with payroll processing and related tax filings in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to identify discrepancies or errors
- Prepare detailed financial reports, including financial statement writing and account analysis summaries
- Support budgeting activities and provide insights for financial planning
- Maintain thorough documentation of all bookkeeping transactions, including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and journal entries
Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Xero, Sage, or similar tools
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting, non-profit accounting, governmental accounting, and public accounting standards
- Knowledge of GAAP regulations and technical accounting principles
- Experience with account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, general ledger accounting, and account analysis
- Familiarity with tax experience related to payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and governmental reporting requirements
- Ability to perform 10 key typing accurately for data entry tasks
- Excellent attention to detail in balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Basic understanding of budgeting processes and financial concepts related to bookkeeping
