Duties
- Greet patients warmly and manage all front desk operations with enthusiasm, including patient check-in and check-out processes.
- Schedule appointments efficiently using dental office management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring optimal patient flow.
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle claims processing using systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth.
- Collect payments, process dental billing and coding (including CDT, ICD-9, ICD-10), and manage financial transactions accurately.
- Maintain meticulous dental records and medical documentation review to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper health information management.
- Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, provide patient information, and coordinate appointment reminders via phone etiquette and excellent communication skills.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a dental office or medical administrative support role with strong familiarity in dental terminology and medical coding practices.
- Proficiency in dental office software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with EMR systems such as Epic or Oryx is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes, Medicare guidelines, HIPAA compliance, and CPT/ICD coding standards.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (10 key typing), and familiarity with multi-line phone systems.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and filing procedures.
- Exceptional customer service abilities paired with professional phone etiquette and bilingual capabilities preferred to serve diverse patient populations.
- Prior clinic or hospital experience involving medical billing, care plans, health information management or front desk responsibilities is highly valued.
