Position Summary
Green Truck’s Hydrocarbon Extraction Technician is a hands-on manufacturing role responsible for safely and efficiently executing hydrocarbon cannabis extraction processes in accordance with established SOPs and regulatory requirements. This position supports daily extraction operations by operating equipment, monitoring system parameters, maintaining accurate documentation, and upholding strict safety and compliance standards.
Working under the direction of the Production Manager, Hydrocarbon Extraction Technicians are expected to operate with precision, consistency, and accountability in a fast-paced, regulated lab environment. Success in this role requires strong technical competence, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to safety, quality, and teamwork.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate hydrocarbon extraction equipment safely and efficiently in compliance with company SOPs and regulatory standards
- Conduct solvent transfers, off-gassing, material pour-outs, and post-processing tasks in accordance with approved safety protocols
- Monitor temperature, pressure, and system performance to ensure consistent product quality and optimal extraction results
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of extraction equipment; escalate mechanical or safety issues as needed
- Maintain accurate logs for equipment usage, product weights, batch data, and in-process inventory
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and labeling of hazardous materials, solvents, and media
- Clean, shut down, and sanitize extraction equipment and work areas at the end of each shift
- Adhere to production schedules and meet turnaround expectations for extraction and post-processing workflows
- Submit extraction-related supply requests in accordance with internal inventory procedures
- Follow all OCP regulations, METRC protocols, and internal documentation requirements to support compliance and audit readiness
- Participate in process improvement initiatives, training, and safety reviews to enhance efficiency and operational consistency
- Stay informed on evolving extraction techniques, equipment, and industry best practices
- Complete additional duties as assigned to support manufacturing and compliance operations

Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior hands-on experience with hydrocarbon extraction is required, including demonstrated knowledge of solvent-based extraction techniques and safety protocols
- Additional education or experience in chemistry, biochemistry, or cannabis manufacturing is preferred
Technical Proficiency
- Strong working knowledge of hydrocarbon extraction equipment, safety systems, and material handling procedures
- Familiarity with METRC or comparable inventory tracking systems preferred
- Ability to follow technical instructions precisely and maintain consistent process accuracy
Physical, Availability & Additional Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid government-issued ID
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation
- Must meet all requirements for valid RIC and IIC identification cards issued by the Maine Office of Cannabis Policy
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds as required in a lab environment
- Comfortable working in environments with cannabis odors, solvents, and standard sanitation chemicals
- Required to sign an employment agreement that includes confidentiality and non-compete provisions
Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
