CNC Machinist – Doosan Puma 2100, 2600 SY II
Our company is looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up, programming, operating, and maintaining a Doosan Puma 2100, 2600 SY II CNC Turning Center to manufacture high-quality precision metal components.

Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor the Doosan Puma 2100, 2600 SY II CNC lathe.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and CAD/CAM files.
- Load raw materials and set tooling, offsets, speeds, and feeds for optimal machining performance.
- Perform first-piece inspections and verify dimensions using precision measuring instruments, including calipers and micrometers.
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and customer specifications.
- Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and programming issues to minimize downtime.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and tooling replacement.
- Maintain tooling inventory and report replacement needs.
- Accurately document production, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
- Communicate production status and potential delays with the Production Manager.
- Follow all company safety policies and wear required PPE.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 3 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating and setting up Doosan Puma 2100, 2600 SY II or similar CNC turning centers.
- Strong understanding of CNC programming, G-code, tooling, machine offsets, speeds, and feeds.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Basic math and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
Preferred
- CAD/CAM programming experience.
- Lean Manufacturing experience.
- Machining or manufacturing certifications.
- Experience with live tooling and Y-axis CNC lathes.
