Role Description This is an on-site, contract Piano Teacher role based in Mount Kisco, NY. The Piano Teacher will provide one-on-one and small group piano instruction to students of varying ages, skill levels, and musical interests. Daily responsibilities include planning and delivering engaging lessons, teaching foundational piano technique, music reading, and music theory, and preparing students for recitals, group performances, and ensemble work. The teacher will communicate regularly with students and caregivers about progress and goals, maintain accurate scheduling and attendance records, and collaborate with staff to support studio events and programs. The role also involves creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment that fosters discipline, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for music.
Qualifications
- Strong piano performance skills, including confident Piano Playing and solid technical proficiency on the Piano.
- Background in Piano Education and Music Education, with experience teaching students across a range of ages and abilities.
- Working knowledge of Music Theory and the ability to incorporate theory into practical lessons.
- Clear, patient communication and classroom management skills, with a student-centered, encouraging teaching style.
