Join us as we support the media needs of faculty and staff in Instruction.   Assist in video and audio recording.  We deliver, set up, and help faculty and staff use media equipment, and assist with Zoom meeting recordings.  Media Services meets all instructional audiovisual needs for the college!

ABOUT THE COLLEGE:

Green River College's student body is made up of approximately 41% Academic Transfer students, 34% Professional-Technical students, 15% Adult Basic Education student, and 3% Applied Bachelor’s degrees.  Green River College has four campuses, including the main campus in Auburn, Washington, with satellite campuses in Kent, downtown Auburn, and Enumclaw.  Green River programs serve high school graduates, Running Start students (dual enrollment in local high schools and the college), those seeking retraining for the workforce, international students, students learning English, and Continuing Education students.   • Coordinates with faculty, staff and students in the scheduling, delivery or installation and retrieval of media equipment and systems, including online delivery through streaming media 
  • Produce, duplicate, edit, post, or archive video, audio and images, including legacy media as needed  
     
  • Provide technical advice and assistance to students, faculty and staff in the proper use and operation of audio-visual equipment, multimedia production techniques, multimedia presentations and visual aids  
  • Maintain computerized and manual scheduling, delivery and retrieval records for media equipment, media materials, and rental materials  
  • Uses established policy and procedures as they apply to duplication, production and presentation of media materials, such as copyright law, "Fair Use" and accessibility guidelines 
  • Uses software and online programs to generate caption and audio description files and to manually correct mistakes before publishing and sharing with students, faculty and staff  
  • Maintain proper operation of audio-visual equipment through testing, troubleshooting or minor repairs, and coordinate troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of media equipment and systems in a timely manner 
  • Under manufacturer specifications, receive and test new media equipment or supplies and mentor others in performing these tasks      
  • Collaborate with IT, and other departments to troubleshoot, fix, or recommend the purchase and installation of media equipment and materials 
  • Assist in the maintenance of computerized and/or manual entries of equipment and supplies, which include scheduling and taking quarterly and yearly inventory across our main and branch campuses  
  • Schedule, coordinate, operate and troubleshoot equipment used in video conferencing and online or in person courses (including streaming and web conferencing software, web and video cameras, sound and microphones, other recording devices and lighting equipment)  
  • Produce statistical and other reports  
  • Performs related duties as required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • High school graduation AND six months of experience with media production, audio and video equipment OR equivalent education/experience
  •  Experience using and troubleshooting multimedia equipment and multimedia production equipment, including computer skills and experience using video and audio editing software
  • Highly effective communication skills & ability to approach issues with a customer-focused mindset within multiple modalities, such as email, in-person, and virtually in video meetings
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and commitment to fostering an inclusive environment
  •  Flexibility to travel to/from branch campuses and for scheduled deliveries (mornings / evenings) 
  • Openness to professional and interpersonal development, willingness to learn about new and upcoming media production technologies
 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite for media production, video conferencing platforms, captioning software, Microsoft Office software, including Excel and Access databases
  • Experience with creating or editing audio description, captioning, or transcripts
  • Basic knowledge of HTML a plus

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The essential functions of this position may include using computers for long periods of time, climbing on ladders, using power and hand tools, lifting up to 50lb, and maneuvering heavy video and computer carts.

Ability to travel to/from branch campuses and flexibility for scheduled deliveries

Occasional need to work during evenings or weekends.
