Act as a liaison between automotive customers, students, and faculty. Inputs service tracking to an electronic system that mirrors industry. Maintains Automotive tool room and provides tools and supplies to support students for Automotive instruction.

ABOUT THE COLLEGE:

Green River College's student body is made up of approximately 41% Academic Transfer students, 34% Professional-Technical students, 15% Adult Basic Education student, and 3% Applied Bachelor degrees.  Green River College has four campuses, including the main campus in Auburn, Washington, with satellite campuses in Kent, downtown Auburn, and Enumclaw.  Green River programs serve high school graduates, Running Start students (dual enrollment in local high schools and the college), those seeking retraining for the workforce, international students, students learning English, and Continuing Education students.   • Manages Automotive toolroomworkflow, operation, and organization. Provides tools, equipment, and supplies needed for students, instructors, and projects; helps maintain equipment, toolservice, andensurestools are properly calibrated; prepares equipment, tools, and materials for class projects and demonstrations as requested by instructors; assists instructors, staff, and students in the laboratories and classrooms.?
  • Monitorlaboratories to ensure compliance with safety protocols and policies;assistsin the development and practice of safe laboratory procedures.Ensurestudents are equipped with andproperly usingPPE (Personal Protective Equipment).?
  • Operates and performs routine maintenance and repairs on laboratory and demonstration instruments and equipment; mayassistin instructing students, instructionalaides, and faculty in the use of equipment
  • Maintains adequate stock levels of all inventory and supplies; follows through on proper purchasing procedures; orders equipment, tools, and supplies for the Automotive program as needed
  • Creates/manages Automotive repair orders, invoices, and estimates; ensures accurate interpretation of technician (student) notes and the inputting of notes into repair orders; conducts vehicle parts ordering, quotes, and scheduling of appointments; performs customer service in person, through email, and via phone; accurately communicates between students, instructors, staff, vendors, and customers.
  • Coordinates and relays the status of student projects, status of customer vehicles, and status of school vehicles between multiple class periods; monitors the progress of customer and school vehicles; ensures customer vehicles are completed in a reasonable amount of time and that students have all parts, tools/equipment, and supplies needed to diagnose and repair vehicles
  • Organizes, files, and archives student files, customer repair orders/receipts, and part/equipment invoices
  • Organizes, promotes, coordinates, andassistsin conducting specific programs and resources for students, toincludeletter writing/resumes, telephone etiquette, tutoring, scholarships, training, testing, counseling, job openings, and public relations work; advises in technical subject matter in areas of automotive; prepares students to enter the work force
  • Mayassist, as needed, with laboratory and classroom projects
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma?
  • Moderate computer skills?
  • Customer service skills ?
  • Ability to lift-up to 30 pounds?
Preferred Qualifications:?
  • Some Automotive experience
  • Some formal Automotive training and/or education?
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Working conditions aresimilar toautomotive service areas in current industry settings.May includelong periodsof standing or bending; working in a noisy, fast paced environment where vehicles need to be completedin a timely manner.Handling ofautomotive tools/equipment, supplies, exposure to dirt,grimeand automotive fluids/chemicals.
  • Must act as a role modeldemonstratingand maintaining a professional attitude, and a spirit of mutual regard to staff, employees, students, and automotive customers. Requires extensive computer use, as well as reading and typing.
