What are the responsibilities and job description for the Truck Loader position at GREEN PRODUCTS CO?
Job Overview: Responsible for loading bulk truck loads: safely; to the legal weight limit; utilizing overhead bins, augers, bulk-bags, vacuums, and end-loaders; and checking quality standards of particle size distribution, density and moisture. They verify that trailers are clean and suitable for loading and must know how to weigh trucks. Also, responsibility for loading & transporting product to and from intra-company bin sites and warehouse locations, including Green Pet Products.
Reports to: Plant Manager / Plant Assistant Manager
Supervises: None
Work-shift:
Typical schedule is 7 AM – 4 PM Monday – Friday, but adjusted when necessary.
Job Requirements:
1.) Possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
2.) Safely operate semi-tractors pulling a van, hopper-bottom or walking floor trailer
3.) Safely operate:
a.) Forklifts
b.) End-loaders
c.) Grain vacuums
d.) Skid steers
e.) Augers
4.) Complete load records including the use of truck scale
a.) Scale ticket
b.) Certificate of Analysis
c.) Sample identification
d.) Record seal numbers on Bill of Lading
e.) Photocopy and facsimile machine operation
5.) Perform quality checks:
a.) Bulk density
b.) Particle size distribution (Ro-tap)
c.) Moisture
6.) The ability and willingness to adjust work hours when necessary
7.) Recognize and eliminate potential sources of contamination
8.) Other duties and responsibilities as may reasonably be assigned by the Plant Manager
Essential Functions:
1.) Safely mount and dismount equipment (potentially 30-40 times per shift and in potentially inclement weather).
2.) The use of both hands and both feet
3.) 20/20 vision with or without corrective lenses
4.) Ability to stoop, bend and reach overhead
5.) Lift up to 125 pounds (not repetitive)
6.) Comprehend written and oral instructions, policies and procedures
7.) Basic writing ability
8.) Perform basic arithmetic functions (add, subtract, multiply and divide using a calculator)
