This is an on-site, full-time role for a Head Counselor based in Brattleboro, VT. The Head Counselor will lead daily camp activities, provide guidance to campers, and ensure a safe, fun, and inclusive environment. Responsibilities include supervising a team of counselors, organizing and executing camp programming, managing camper relations, and fostering personal growth among staff and campers. The Head Counselor serves as a role model, demonstrating leadership and positive behavior consistently during all camp interactions.
- Leadership and team management skills to supervise and guide staff and campers effectively.
- Experience in youth engagement, teaching, or mentoring, preferably in a camp or educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster a welcoming and inclusive camp environment.
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to address challenges and support positive outcomes.
- Adaptability and creativity to develop and execute engaging camp programs.
- CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain before the camp season.
- Background in education, recreation, or related fields is a plus.
