Position Overview
Green Mountain Rifle Barrel Company is seeking a skilled Experienced Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team in Conway, NH. This role is responsible for operating and maintaining precision machining equipment used in the production of high-quality rifle barrels and firearm components.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a manufacturing or machining environment and a strong commitment to quality, safety, and efficiency. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our products meet the high standards expected from one of America’s most respected barrel manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor machining equipment used in the production of rifle barrels and firearm components.
- Interpret work instructions, production schedules, and technical drawings to ensure parts meet required specifications.
- Make machine adjustments and tooling changes to maintain proper tolerances and product quality.
- Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Troubleshoot machine issues and work with maintenance personnel to resolve equipment problems.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records.
- Train and assist entry-level machine operators as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company safety standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and workflow efficiency.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
- 3 years of machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating CNC or precision machining equipment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and process documentation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work safely around industrial machinery and production equipment.
Schedule
- Full-time position
- Monday – Friday (shift schedules may vary based on production needs)
