Responsibilities
- Oversee daily front-of-house operations, including customer service, reservations, and seating arrangements to ensure smooth flow.
- Lead, motivate, hire and train front-of-house staff to deliver exceptional hospitality and maintain high standards of service.
- Manage shift schedules, monitor performance, and provide ongoing coaching to foster a positive team environment.
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure guests leave satisfied with their experience.
- Maintain accurate cash handling procedures and oversee server schedules and checkouts, some ordering and labor cost controls on a day to day basis.
- Support food service management by coordinating with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and proper food presentation.
- Uphold food safety standards and cleanliness protocols in compliance with health regulations.
- Hands on seating, greeting, bussing, expediting, serving and bartending as needed.
- Participate in staff hiring processes including interviewing candidates, onboarding new team members, and supporting their training & development.
- Contribute to budget management efforts by monitoring operational costs and optimizing resource use.
Requirements
- Proven management experience in a casual dining or fine dining setting.
- Familiarity with POS systems along with cash handling expertise.
- Experience supervising teams within hospitality or restaurant environments; leadership skills are essential.
- Knowledge of food safety practices, health regulations, and food production standards.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations professionally.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently during busy shifts while maintaining attention to detail.
- Previous experience in hospitality management or assistant manager roles is preferred but not mandatory.
