Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Client Services Accounting Manager to join their growing team. This individual will manage a portfolio of clients, oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting services, lead and develop accounting staff, and serve as a trusted advisor by providing financial insights and exceptional client service. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with strong technical accounting expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping clients achieve their business goals.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of client accounts and ensure timely, accurate delivery of accounting services.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting engagements, including financial reporting and account reconciliations.
- Review financial statements, identify trends, and provide meaningful financial insights and recommendations to clients.
- Lead client meetings and build strong, long-term client relationships.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting team members while fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Review work related to bank reconciliations, payroll tax filings, sales tax returns, 1099s, W-2s, and other accounting functions.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure exceptional client service and efficient project execution.
- Support process improvements, special projects, and departmental initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen existing client relationships and contribute to business development efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 10 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Previous public accounting experience strongly preferred.
- Prior experience leading or supervising accounting professionals.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliations, and generally accepted accounting principles.
- Experience managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
- CPA, CMA, MBA, or other advanced certification is a plus, but not required.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
