Prominent and prestigious Knoxville/Maryville based corporation is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team!
Position Summary: The Senior Accountant will participate in maintaining the GL to ensure effectiveness and accuracy of accounting tasks. The senior accountant will analyze and review complex financial data to assist leadership in making forecasting decisions and formulating financial strategies.
Duties / Responsibilities
- General ledger and accounting activities including the maintenance of adequate supporting documentation and audit trails.
- Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process including coordinating the completion of accounting activity in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist with ensuring that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly with adequate supporting documentation.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports.
- Assist with annual budget development and preparation.
- Assist with the documentation of policies and procedures and the monitoring of internal controls.
- Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks, including M&A due diligence and independent auditor information requests for interim and year-end audit as required.
- Assist the Accounting Supervisor with the coaching and development of accounting staff as necessary.
- Lead assigned special division-wide projects as needed.
- Travel to Manufacturing Facilities, as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or Business Administration preferably with concentration in accounting. Master's in accounting and/ or CPA is preferred.
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting and/or business experience.
- Experience in a deadline-oriented, multi-tasking environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to quickly learn processes and systems.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to work. independently and collaboratively with a team
- Flexible and approachable demeanor.
- Detail oriented
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
