Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented, Staff Accountant to join our growing team at Green Machine. As a U.S.-based manufacturer of turnkey sorting systems, Green Machine designs, manufactures, and installs innovative recycling equipment and complete processing systems for customers across North America.

Job Duties:
- Enter and reconcile standard and non-standard journal entries. Includes prepaid expenses, credit card transactions, payroll entries, and accrued expenses.
- Maintain and reconcile Income Statement accounts on a monthly basis.
- Support Accounts Payable by reviewing and updating bills as needed, vendor creation with 1099 detail as needed, and payables selection.
- Support Accounts Receivable with customer aging reports and follow-up.
- Perform monthly bank account reconciliation.
- Assist with month end closing and reconciliation.
- Prepare and maintain detailed reports on inventory valuations, profitability, including Work in Progress and accruals.
- Maintain subcontractor insurance documentation and subcontractor agreements.
- Reconcile and pay monthly/quarterly/annual sales tax for multiple states.
- Audit inventory counts and values.
- Cross train on payroll processing and stay up to date to serve as backup.
- Other duties as required and based on skill level.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Computer proficiency includes word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, and generating reports.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both with coworkers and customers.
- Solid understanding of accounting practices and collection requirements.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to gather data, review for accuracy, and prepare reports.
- Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- Able to travel to Whitney Point, NY and New Hampshire as needed (less than 3 times a year).
Experience Required:
- Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook
- Accounting Software: Sage Intacct
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or similar degree
- 2 years experience working in an Accounting Department
- JobBoss or ECI Software a plus
