Part-Time Driver Education Instructor
(Spring Onboarding | Summer 2026 Instruction)
Instructor Eligibility Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
Applicants must:
- Be at least 21 years old
- Have held a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 3 years
- Have a clean driving record (limited or no points as required by the MVA)
Applicants who do not meet these requirements are not eligible to move forward.
Green Light Driving Academy is building its instructor team in preparation for increased enrollment during the summer driving season.
Instructor candidates must complete the Maryland MVA-required certification process before paid instruction begins.
Instructor Needs
We are seeking candidates interested in one or more of the following roles:
- Daytime classroom instruction
- Evening classroom instruction
- Weekend classroom instruction
- Behind-the-Wheel instruction
- Hybrid instruction (in-person classroom with live-streamed students)
- Special programming
All instructors are required to become certified in both classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction. Once certified, instructors may express a preference for teaching focus areas based on availability and program needs.
Technology & Instruction Expectations
- Classroom instruction is delivered in a hybrid format
- Candidates must be willing to learn and use basic live-streaming technology
- Comfort with teens, structure, and safety-based instruction is required
Timeline & Certification Requirements
- Applications reviewed beginning March 21
- Instructor candidates selected by April 1
- Apprentice badge must be obtained by June 1 to be eligible for summer instruction
Important Notes
- This position requires unpaid certification work prior to paid instruction
- No stipends are offered during the certification process
- Candidates who do not meet the certification deadline will not move forward
This role is not suitable for candidates seeking immediate income.
