Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the garden center team, fostering a positive and productive work environment through effective training and development.
- Oversee inventory management, including purchasing, stock replenishment, and inventory control to maintain optimal product availability.
- Manage store operations such as cash handling, cashiering, POS (Point of Sale) systems, and sales transactions with accuracy.
- Develop and implement merchandising strategies to enhance product displays, pricing accuracy, and overall store presentation.
- Coordinate marketing efforts to promote seasonal sales, special events, and new product launches.
- Ensure excellent customer service by addressing inquiries promptly, resolving issues efficiently, and maintaining high standards of communication skills.
- Supervise shift management, scheduling staff shifts to ensure proper coverage during peak hours while adhering to budgeting guidelines.
Requirements
- Proven management experience in retail sales or store management, preferably within a grocery store or garden center environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy setting.
- Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers.
- Demonstrated proficiency in inventory management, purchasing, merchandising, and retail math.
- Experience with POS systems, cash handling procedures, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and administrative tasks.
- Leadership qualities with supervising experience; ability to motivate and develop team members through training & development initiatives.
- Knowledge of retail sales strategies including pricing, marketing, stock rotation, and store merchandising.
- Ability to handle customer inquiries professionally via phone etiquette or in person while maintaining organizational skills.
