Security Operations Manager

Summary of position:

A Security Operations Manager's job involves overseeing daily security operations, such as monitoring sites, managing security personnel, and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include developing security strategies, conducting risk assessments, implementing security technologies, and responding to incidents. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills to manage security teams, liaise with external agencies, and maintain a safe environment for personnel and assets.

Oversee all aspects of an organization's physical security, including developing security strategies, managing personnel, and coordinating responses to incidents

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

· Developing and implementing company policies

· Supervising and training employees to complete tasks according to company standards

· Coordinating with department heads to achieve organizational goals

· Evaluating employee performance by tracking key performance indicators (KPIs)

· Supervising security personnel, conducting performance reviews, providing training, and managing scheduling.

· Monitoring security activities, managing budgets and inventory, and ensuring operational efficiency.

· Developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and protocols to protect assets and personnel.

· Responding to security incidents, conducting investigations, and developing after-action reports.

· Conducting risk assessments, monitoring trends, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

· Overseeing the use and maintenance of security systems, surveillance technology, and security management software.

· Coordinating with internal departments and external partners, such as law enforcement agencies and security vendors.

· Handle special projects, assigned.

• Supervise and train security staff: Recruit, hire, and manage a team of security officers and supervisors. This includes scheduling, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and ensuring all personnel receive proper training in first aid, CPR, conflict management, and emergency response procedures.

Education and Experience:

· 5 years of direct experience in a leadership and people management role.

· Experience or training in developing and recommending policy, organizing, and carrying out specific programs, as well as evaluating and recommending changes in methods of intelligence operations

· Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage, train, and motivate a team of security professionals.

· Strong technical knowledge of security systems, such as access control, CCTV, and alarm systems.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly convey security protocols and produce detailed reports.

· Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills for assessing complex situations and making critical decisions under pressure.

Required Licenses or Certifications:

• A high school diploma or GED is often required, while an associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is often preferred.

Required Travel: 15% travel expected

Pay: $95,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
