What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barista/Cashier position at Green Grocer & Deli?
We are looking for an experienced Barista to prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee and tea.
Barista responsibilities include educating customers on our drinks menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items and taking orders. To be successful in this role, you should have customer service skills and knowledge of how brewing equipment operates. You should also be able to work various shifts. Note: this position’s compensation includes salary and tips.

- Prepare and serve excellent beverages and food with efficiency and precise techniques, following all café, health, and safety standards. Including sanitizing work areas.
- Comply with attendance rules and being available to show up at work for your scheduled shift on a regular basis.
- Tasked with not only being timely to shifts but ensuring that you are engaged during the shift to provide the best quality service to our guests.
- Replenish items as needed. This could include but is not limited to, replenishing the coffee supplies, stocking coffee brewing equipment, packing and replenishing pastries and stocking/ merchandising retail products.
- Accountable for running transactions on our point-of-sale system (POS) and will be tasked with providing correct change to guests so that your drawer is in balance.
- Provide customers with product details and demonstrate an ever-growing knowledge of our beverage, food, pastry, and coffee offerings.
- Accountable for upholding the company policies and procedures as approved by the leadership team.
- Perform other duties as assigned such as taking out garbage, creating signs to advertise store product or events, check temperatures of freezers, refrigerators or heating equipment to ensure proper functioning and other tasks.
Qualifications & Skills
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and be available to work mornings, weekends, and holidays. Must work well under pressure. Prior guest service and money handling experience preferred. Prior café or coffee shop experience a plus. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
