Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service to ensure a positive shopping experience
- Assist customers in selecting products based on their preferences and needs, including conducting product demos when appropriate
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system efficiently for sales transactions, cash handling, and receipts
- Upsell and recommend products to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring product availability
- Conduct inventory checks, manage stock levels, and assist with stocking to keep the store well-organized
- Educate customers on product effects, proper usage, and responsible consumption while adhering to legal guidelines
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or providing support remotely
- Supervise or assist with training new team members, fostering a collaborative team environment
Skills
- Proven experience in retail sales or customer service roles, especially within grocery stores or similar retail environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain product features clearly and confidently
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer bases effectively
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and basic retail math for accurate transactions
- Experience in supervising or mentoring team members is a plus
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques and stock management practices
- Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent phone etiquette and professional demeanor when engaging with customers over the phone or in person
