The Bakery Associate & Cashier is a flexible team member who assists with mixing dough, baking, icing, packaging and filling designated dog bakery items, provides excellent customer service by assisting guests on the floor with product questions, and processes purchases at the checkout. The role includes maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, assisting with special community events, and stepping in to help with a variety of tasks to keep daily operations running smoothly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Bakery Associate & Cashier is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:
- Keep bakery department well stocked and appealing to meet customer demand. Smile and greet customers, make suggestions, answer questions about various products. Help resolve customer concerns in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Take customer orders over the phone or in person at the store with a pleasant and positive attitude. Determine what the customer is looking for in terms of size, flavor, and appearance.
- Follow step-by-step recipes, without deviation, to make various made-from-scratch dog treats.
- Set up, operate, and tend equipment that cooks, mixes, blends or processes ingredients in the production of food products, according to recipes.
- Take a complete & accurate inventory of products and supplies as requested.
- Accurately ring customer purchases/returns and count change back to customer according to established operating procedures.
- Responsible for general sanitation. Follow cleaning schedules and department guidelines to ensure that work areas, equipment, counters, display cases, etc. are well maintained, clean and meet all health and OSHA requirements. Dispose of trash properly.
- Ensure smooth function of store by cooperating with co-workers and supervisors. Responsible for continuously improving job performance.
- Responsible for utilization of all company provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- May also be called upon to assist in other areas of the business.
Pay: $15.00 per hour
