Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using advanced medical imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current oral health status
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies tailored to individual needs
- Assist with chairside procedures in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings, ensuring smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, documentation review, and electronic health records (EHR) management in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Ensure infection prevention management by adhering to strict infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection prevention standards
Requirements
- Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice
- Proficiency with dental software such as Dentrix for charting and record keeping
- Experience in pediatric dentistry is highly desirable, along with knowledge of pediatric-specific procedures
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and dental equipment operation
- Ability to perform patient care tasks such as vital signs measurement, medical coding, and documentation review accurately
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance management and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
- Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration in a fast-paced environment
