The Nature’s Nursery Preschool curriculum models the New York State Pre-Kindergarten Standards that provide the framework for the learning and development of the whole child. This framework is aligned with the existing K-12 learning standards.
Within this setting, the Teacher Assistant – Nature’s Nursery is responsible for active participation and planning of activities for the children in our care. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: following the direction of the group leaders in planning, preparing and implementing activities for all or part of the group. Actively participate with the children in all activities including farm, wildlife, swimming, horse barn and other areas of the Green Chimneys campus. Actively participate and supervise the children at all times, demonstrate the ability to make good decisions in accordance with the agency’s policies and procedures and those of OCFS. Assist the director and other staff members to maintain proper coverage, working overtime if necessary.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide care for the children and the school environment
- Keep the environment neat, clean, safe and healthy.
- Maintain and request supplies, as needed.
- Report all maintenance requests to the Department Director.
- Assist with special projects or assignments as requested by the Director and other teaching staff.
- Copy and distribute Incident Reports Candidates must be 18 years of age or older. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Candidates with childcare experience preferred.
