Financial Analyst- Trophy Signature Homes- Dallas

Overview

The Financial Analyst must believe in, practice and initiate all Green Brick Partners values set forth in an acronym we call HOME. They must be Honest, Objective, Mature and Efficient in how he or she approaches their role at Green Brick Partners.

• Provides active support to VP of Finance and oversight of company initiatives in policies, procedures, and internal controls for accounting department.
• Devises and executes strategies for accounting functions to provide continuous improvements and efficiencies where needed.

Responsibilities

Financial Planning and Analysis

• Collect, consolidate and validate budget information, in addition to preparing regular reporting relating to budgets/actuals
• Prepare gross margin analysis to manage backlog report on a continuous basis
• Prepare and run Backlog meetings. Be able to come out of each meeting with an expected closing number for specific timeframes
• Prepare Strategical planning/forecast for Houston/Austin divisions
• Assist Austin reporting setup and continuation as they grow
• Assist with uploading of Audit support when needed
• Assist with Month-End close tasks
• Evaluate and approve the gross margin of the home at time of start (start scrub)
• Analyze monthly budgets and enter information into Gross Margin sheets for monthly pricing meeting
• Monitor lot takedowns and record in NewStar
• Assist Starts department with paneling homes
• Set up new land deals within NewStar from project setup to lot input
• Handle special projects as they arise

Authority/Budget/Decision Making/Discretion and Independent Judgment Ability: 

This position may be responsible to supervise another team member from time to time. Utilizes discretion, judgment, a high-level analytical skills to interpret financial analysis and modeling.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Accounting or Finance).

Qualifications: Advanced in Microsoft Excel, Excellent Critical Thinking Skills, Detail Oriented, Strong Time Management and Communication Skills.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for 4 hours straight or up to a full 8-hour day; sit for extended periods; kneel and bend at the waist; walk up and down stairs; walk on unlevel terrain; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.  Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision ability required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience in financial planning and analysis

Location: This is an in office position. Will require 5 days a week at the Plano Corporate Office.
