What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kennel Technician position at Green Acres Kennel Shop?
Green Acres Kennel Shop in Bangor, ME is looking for two kennel technicians to join our 10 person strong team. We are located on 1653 Union St. Our ideal candidate is attentive, punctual, and engaged.

Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect habitats/kennel spaces for dogs, cats, and occasionally small animals (guinea pigs, rabbits, etc).
- Launder towels, beds, and bedding daily
- Wash buckets and dishes after meals
- Feed and medicate dogs and cats
- Supervise group play with dogs in all weather conditions
- Supervise and engage in individual play for dogs and cats
- Monitor health and well being of pets in our care including physical and mental health.
- Communicate behavioral or health related issues to the proper supervisors
- Occasionally transport pets to a veterinary facility when necessary for illness or injury.
- Maintain safe/clean yards-snow removal, traction control, scooping of feces, cleaning of urine and feces in outside spaces.
- Scooping and cleaning cat litter boxes and habitats.
Qualifications
- Experience with animals is preferred but not required. We will train in house
- Valid Driver's License-trips to the vet will be done with company vehicle
- Available some weekends, afternoons, and evenings
- Due to our vulnerable clientele and staff and our interactions with clients who travel, we do ask that staff be vaccinated against COVID-19.
- Ability to safely interact with all breeds/types of dogs
