Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Biller to join our dynamic team. As a Dental Biller, you will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating collections while maintaining compliance with industry regulations. Responsibilities
- Process dental claims using appropriate coding systems, including Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), International Classification of Diseases (ICD-9 and ICD-10), and Diagnosis-Related Group (DRG) codes.
- Manage patient accounts by verifying insurance coverage and eligibility, as well as addressing any discrepancies that may arise.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies while ensuring accuracy in medical coding and adherence to billing regulations.
- Follow up on outstanding claims and manage collections for unpaid accounts, utilizing effective communication strategies.
- Maintain organized medical records and documentation in compliance with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Collaborate with dental staff to ensure accurate patient information is captured and communicated effectively.
- Stay updated on changes in medical terminology, billing practices, and insurance policies to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Foster a positive work environment by supporting team members in achieving billing goals and enhancing operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical billing and coding, with specific knowledge of dental billing practices preferred.
- Proficiency in CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG coding, and general medical terminology.
- Familiarity with EMR and EHR systems to manage patient records effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, insurance providers, and team members.
- Prior experience in a medical office setting is highly desirable.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of billing processes.
