GCHS is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for our patients, residents, visitors, and staff. The ideal candidate will have experience in building maintenance, troubleshooting equipment, and performing preventative maintenance in a healthcare or commercial setting.

- Receives written work orders or verbal instructions from supervisor.
- Cuts grass and trims weeds on the organization’s property by operating weed eaters, riding and push mowers, trimming bushes and trees, and manually pulling weeds.
- Digs flower beds and plants flowers.
- Constructs decorative flower garden borders from wood.
- Cleans internal areas of buildings, including buffing, dusting, sweeping, and mopping.
- Assists with washing windows as needed.
- Performs ongoing preventive maintenance duties, including wheelchair and medical equipment inspections, fire extinguisher and other system inspections and other routine mechanical inspections.
- Empties trash cans and consolidates trash for weekly pickup.
- Paints interior and exterior walls and trim and performs wall repair, including drywall, patching, painting, and sanding.
- Repairs parking lot and sidewalks with asphalt, cold patching materials, and concrete and paint exterior surfaces such as curbs, parking lot striping etc.
- Operates snow removal equipment and performs manual snow removal activities to maintain parking lots and sidewalks, including salting, shoveling, bobcat operation.
- Maintains and repairs buildings’ plumbing and electrical systems, including replacing worn or defective parts such as switches and fuses.
