Mountain Operations Manager
Greek Peak Mountain Resort is seeking a dynamic and experienced Mountain Operations Manager to lead all on-mountain operations. This senior leadership role oversees Grooming, Snowmaking, Lift Maintenance, and Garage/Fleet Maintenance, ensuring seamless coordination, operational excellence, and a top-tier guest experience.

This position plays a critical role in delivering consistent snow quality, reliable lift operations, and a well-maintained fleet of equipment—ensuring the mountain operates at its best every day.
What You’ll Do
- Provide leadership and oversight for:
- Snowmaking Operations
- Grooming Operations
- Lift Maintenance (6 aerial lifts, 3 surface lifts)
- Garage & Fleet Maintenance (snowcats, vehicles, heavy equipment)
- Directly manage and support department managers, ensuring alignment and accountability
- Develop and execute operational strategies to maximize efficiency and guest satisfaction
- Oversee and enforce preventative maintenance programs across all departments
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards (ANSI B77, etc.)
- Coordinate daily operations and interdepartmental communication
- Manage budgets, labor planning, and capital improvement projects
- Lead seasonal planning, including pre-season preparation and post-season shutdown
- Monitor weather patterns and make operational decisions regarding snowmaking and grooming priorities
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation across mountain operations
- 5 years of experience in ski resort mountain operations or a related field
- Strong background in lift maintenance and operations (required)
- Experience with Hall chairlifts preferred
- Proven leadership experience managing multiple departments or large teams
- Strong understanding of snowmaking systems, grooming practices, and heavy equipment maintenance
- Mechanical aptitude across electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems
- Experience with budgeting, planning, and capital projects
- Ability to work in fast-paced, weather-dependent environments
- Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated success leading complex, multi-department mountain operations at a high-volume or destination resort
- Experience with long-term capital planning, infrastructure investment, and operational improvement initiatives
- Proven ability to develop high-performing leadership teams and drive operational excellence
