Desired Qualifications
Preference for Kindergarten, PreK, K-6, early childhood, and/or teachers with professional experience in working with students with disabilities, and/or a background in Special Education
Experienced in understanding the NYS Next Generation Learning Standards, Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) in the DuFour model, Response to Intervention (RTI), Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Early Childhood Language Development, and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention
Proven success with instructional planning to meet the needs of a wide range of students
Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to establish rapport with students, staff and families with diverse needs
Willingness to work 5 days during the summer as compensated per the GTA contract
Willingness to be flexible with scheduling
Ability to collaborate with colleagues and provide non-evaluative coaching feedback
Skilled in utilizing the LASW protocol and data-analysis strategies to drive instruction
Position Summary/Responsibilities
Foster a collaborative approach to early childhood instruction as the grade level team leader through co-teaching, modeling, push-in, pull-out and providing academic and behavioral intervention to early childhood students
Lead the grade level team's academic intervention planning, implementation and progress monitoring processes
Collaborate daily with the grade level team and building administration to support the needs of students, teachers and support staff
Engage in regular, ongoing communication with the building Principal and Director of Elementary and Early Childhood about the instructional program
Devote the majority of his or her time working directly in the classroom with students
Work with teachers as a peer in a constructive, non-evaluative manner to build instructional capacity and support the implementation the School Improvement Plan, or School Comprehensive Education Plan
Lead the Grade Level Professional Learning Community in the DuFour model; including recommendations for referrals to Problem-Solving Teams as needed
Coordinate data analysis, differentiation, and intervention groupings for all students in the grade level
Implement effective instructional practices that improve student learning outcomes
Maintain confidentiality
Reports to the building Principal
Lead Professional Learning Communities in the DuFour model
Participate in ongoing professional learning and work collaboratively with peers, other teacher leaders, Principals, Greece Teachers Association leadership, and Director of Elementary and Early Childhood
Strong ability to coach peers to engage in critical and targeted reflection, communicate effectively, and build teams in support of student achievement
May be required to mentor new hires across the district with supervisor approval
