NYS Certification in Elementary Education

Position Summary/Responsibilities
Long term substitute teacher for 4th grade. Start date: as soon as possible.
Design and deliver engaging, student-centered instruction that adheres to state curriculum and standards using a variety of teaching methods to meet the diverse learning needs and styles of students;
Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment where all students feel supported and challenged;
Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and evidence based interventions as appropriate;
Communicate effectively with students, parents, administrators, and colleagues regarding student progress and potential areas for improvement;
Stay current with best practices and professional development opportunities;
Monitor students and adjust instructional strategies and methods to ensure that achievement expectations are met;
Complete student report cards;
Access appropriate resources and conduct research as needed to support Next Generation ELA Standards;
Focus on use of data driven instruction and assessment analysis used to plan and contribute to building and district level PLCs;
All other duties as assigned.
