Join our team as a Fork Truck Repairer! This is a 1st-shift position, but you must be flexible and willing to work any shift as needed.
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections on forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic malfunctions using testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
- Repair and replace components including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, hydraulic pumps, cylinders, batteries, chargers, and electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair electric, propane, gasoline, and diesel-powered forklifts.
- Maintain accurate maintenance, repair, and inspection records.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform emergency repairs to minimize operational downtime.
- Order and maintain appropriate inventory of replacement parts and supplies.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and minor machining work as needed for equipment repairs.
- Operate forklifts and other equipment safely during testing and inspection processes.
- Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with operations, warehouse, and maintenance personnel to prioritize repair activities.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure equipment meets OSHA, manufacturer, and company requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience repairing forklifts, industrial equipment, automotive equipment, or heavy machinery.
- Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, technical drawings, and equipment specifications.
- Proficiency with diagnostic and testing equipment.
- Ability to safely operate powered industrial vehicles.
