Full Stack Developer

The Full Stack Developer will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing Graeter's digital commerce platforms and customer-facing web applications. This role requires both front-end and back-end development expertise to create seamless, high-performing e-commerce experiences that drive revenue growth and customer satisfaction. Working closely with the Senior Director of eCommerce and Corporate Gifting, this position will translate business requirements into technical solutions while ensuring platform stability, security, and scalability.

Key Performance Responsibilities:

E-Commerce Platform Development and Maintenance:

• Develop, maintain, and enhance the Graeter's e-commerce website (graeters.com) built on Shopify, including custom features, integrations, and functionality improvements.
• Build and optimize responsive, mobile-first user interfaces that provide exceptional user experiences across all devices.
• Implement and maintain backend systems, APIs, and databases to support e-commerce operations.
• Ensure website performance, security, and reliability through regular monitoring, testing, and optimization.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain seamless customer experiences.

Technical Integration and API Development:

• Develop and maintain integrations with third-party platforms including payment gateways, shipping providers, marketing automation tools, and CRM systems.
• Build and maintain API connections with partners such as GoldBelly and other corporate gifting platforms.
• Integrate marketing technologies including Meta Pixel, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and other tracking and analytics tools.
• Work with email marketing platform (Braze) tools to support campaign execution.
• Ensure data flows seamlessly between systems while maintaining security and data integrity.

Feature Development and Optimization:

• Translate business requirements and marketing strategies into technical specifications and working solutions.
• Develop custom features to support revenue initiatives, including personalization engines, product recommendation systems, and promotional tools.
• Build and optimize checkout flows, shopping cart functionality, and payment processing to maximize conversion rates.

Performance and SEO:

• Optimize website performance, including page load times, server response times, and overall site speed.
• Implement technical SEO best practices, including structured data, meta tags, canonical URLs, and XML sitemaps.
• Ensure proper tracking and analytics implementation for accurate performance measurement.
• Monitor and improve Core Web Vitals and other performance metrics.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with the Senior Director of eCommerce and Corporate Gifting to prioritize development projects aligned with business goals.
• Collaborate with the creative team to implement design specifications and ensure brand consistency.
• Partner with marketing team members to enable campaign requirements and promotional functionality.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Coordinate with customer service and fulfillment teams to address technical issues affecting operations.

Security and Compliance:

• Implement and maintain security best practices, including PCI compliance for payment processing.
• Ensure customer data protection and privacy compliance (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
• Perform regular security audits and updates to prevent vulnerabilities.
• Maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures.
• Spearhead all WCAG compliance initiatives

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3-5 years of professional full stack development experience, preferably in e-commerce environments.
• Strong proficiency in front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6 ), and modern frameworks (React, Vue.js, or similar).
• Solid back-end development skills in languages such as Node.js, Python, Ruby, or PHP.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and web services integration.
• Proficiency with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
• Strong understanding of responsive design principles and mobile-first development.
• Experience with database design and management (SQL and NoSQL databases).
• Knowledge of web performance optimization techniques and tools.
• Understanding of SEO technical requirements and implementation.

Strongly Preferred:

• Hands-on experience with Shopify development, including Liquid templating, Shopify APIs, and app development.
• Experience with Shopify Plus features and custom checkout development.
• Experience integrating marketing platforms (Google Ads, Meta Ads, Braze, etc.).
• Knowledge of payment gateway integrations and PCI compliance.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Experience with analytics platforms (Google Analytics, GTM) and tracking implementation.
