Description
Major Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Works closely with CCO, in meeting GRH operational requirements with those of the GRH Clinics. This includes the identification and creation of policies and procedures to guide the daily operations of GRH Clinics. Serves as a liaison with other GRH departments and vendors to ensure the successful and efficient daily operation of GRH Clinics. Strives to meet the reasonable expectations of patients, family members and employers for service.
- Responsible for personnel related matters, i.e., hiring, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions of all GRH clinic CMA, LPNs, and RNs.
- Responsible for assisting with the creation, communicating, monitoring, and updating clinical staff schedules for all GRH Clinics. Ensures appropriate/efficient staff coverage according to provider and patient schedules. Track employee attendance and requests for PTO.
- Works with others to ensure GRH and its Clinics meet employer-employee expectations for work-related medical testing and screening services.
- Responsible for training new clinical staff members in Clinic operations and in assessing the training needs of all clinical staff members and nurturing clinical staff performance and efficiency.
- Oversight of Clinic Nurse Lead, and Clinic Nurse Trainer for day-to-day activities for all GRH Creston campus clinics.
- Identifies areas for quality/process improvement, directs staff on implementing needed changes, monitors impact and reports results through GRH QI process.
- Preparation of routine and special operational reports and meeting minutes as needed for GRH Clinics. Assists with special projects as may be directed.
- Promotes a workplace atmosphere that is conducive to the Mission, Vision, and Values of GRH and in problem resolution for service-related issues experienced by patients, family, and staff.
- Must maintain Iowa Registered Nursing license.
- Keyboarding and computer skills required including familiarity with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Prior experience in clinic operations, working with health care providers and staff, nurse supervision (preferred) and a basic understanding of clinic billing/coding requirements are important.
- Ability to communicate effectively with health care providers, nursing staff, patients, family members.
- Ability to correct and direct the work of staff assigned.
- Ability to be compassionate towards patient problems and issues.
- Ability to work under stress, with interruptions and deadlines.
- Ability to think logically in following procedures and instructions.
- Ability to master basic math skills and utilize hospital information system.
- Supervises all GRH Clinic nurses and CMA staff
- Reports directly to the Chief Clinic Officer
Others
- Responsible for maintaining patient and staff confidentiality.
- Responsible for adhering to all GRH policies and procedures
- Responsible for adhering to GRH Clinic budgets
- Responsible for following the rules and regulations of EMTALA
