About the Role:
The Arts and STEM Instructor plays a pivotal role in fostering a dynamic and integrative learning environment that supports creative arts and science disciplines. A key outcome of this role is to empower students to explore artistic and technical domains. Ultimately, the instructor contributes to building a vibrant learning community that values curiosity, experimentation, and lifelong learning.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Enjoyment of the Arts, STEM field, or a related discipline.
- Experience teaching is great, but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and other staff.
- Ability to deliver age-appropriate lesson plans (Curriculum and training will be provided).
- Familiarity with educational technology and tools that support interactive and remote learning.
Responsibilities:
- Implement comprehensive lesson plans for arts and/or STEM subjects tailored to various age groups and learning styles.
- Facilitate hands-on workshops and projects that encourage student participation and creativity.
- Maintain an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that nurtures diversity, equity, and respect among all students.
- Understand YMCA core values of Caring, Honest, Respect, and Responsibility and implement them in both teaching style and instruction
- Commit to YMCA Safety standards and follow all Child Protection standards (training will be provided)
