Elite 911-Only EMS Leadership Opportunity

Greater Pittston Area, Pennsylvania 

Greater Pittston Regional Ambulance is seeking an exceptional, experienced, full-time leader to serve as our next Chief of Operations for our private, nonprofit, 911-only ambulance service. This extraordinary opportunity is for a mission-driven paramedic professional ready to lead elite operations, support high performing crews, and help guide one of the region’s premier emergency medical services into the future.

 Starting Salary: $85,000 to $100,000 Per Year

 Eligible candidates may qualify for a sign-on and retention bonus.

The Chief of Operations (COO) of the Greater Pittston Regional Ambulance Association plays an essential role in managing and directing the organization’s daily operations. This role requires an experienced paramedic whose clinical judgment, field performance, and overall paramedic skills are exemplary.

Applicants should have should have 5 to 8 years of experience in a high-volume EMS agency, with leadership role experience. The candidate must possess either a Pennsylvania Paramedic license or an NREMT-P certification. A degree is not required, but is preferred.

The COO’s primary focus is to guarantee operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and outstanding service delivery to the community.

Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities:

1. Serve as an experienced paramedic and maintain exemplary paramedic skills, clinical judgment, professionalism, and field performance consistent with the leadership expectations of the Chief of Operations role.

2. Conduct daily review of all run reports for accuracy and completeness and assign staff to review, correct or change unsatisfactory run reports.

3. Complete the schedule and ensure that appropriate staff levels are maintained with the goal of achieving the highest possible response rate and the lowest possible amount of overtime expense.

4. It is expected that the Chief will make himself/herself available to work at an event where other staff are unavailable.

5. Enforce all policies and procedures of the Association.

6. Ensure that all Association vehicles are appropriately stocked with all necessary supplies and equipment and are always kept in a ready state.

7. Ensures that appropriate backup inventory of supplies and equipment is on-hand and assumes responsibility for ordering equipment and supplies.

8. Interfaces with Association’s CFO/Treasurer to ensure that all runs are appropriately billed.

9. Interfaces with Association’s mutual aid partners to ensure efficient, appropriate and timely delivery of service.

10. Interfaces with governmental officials as necessary.

11. Develops and maintains quality management and quality assurance programs.

12.Any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer or the Board of Directors.
