We are looking for someone who is passionate about the Greater Phoenix region and excited to help businesses get the most value from their Chamber membership. The ideal candidate is relationship-driven, organized, and proactive, with an interest in the local business community, public affairs, and economic development. This person will enjoy working directly with members, building strong connections, and creating meaningful engagement opportunities that support long-term satisfaction and retention.
Key Responsibilities
The Member Engagement Coordinator is responsible for strengthening member engagement and supporting retention efforts by helping businesses understand, use, and appreciate their Chamber benefits. This role serves as an extension of the Director of Strategic Member Engagement and supports Premier member relationships through personalized outreach, onboarding, follow-up, and connection to relevant Chamber programs, staff, and resources.
This position helps execute the Member Retention Plan by coordinating meaningful touchpoints with members, including email outreach, phone calls, virtual meetings, in-person meetings, handwritten notes, and other personalized follow-up. The role also supports leadership involvement when appropriate and ensures that member activity is tracked accurately and consistently in the CRM system.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, both verbally and in writing, and can move work forward with minimal direction. This person should be highly organized, responsive, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a positive and professional presence. All Chamber employees are expected to collaborate across departments and contribute to the organization’s overall mission and goals.
Core Duties
- Serve as a secondary point of contact for the Director of Strategic Member Engagement and Vice President of Strategic Member Engagement.
- Maintain accurate and timely records in the CRM system and prepare reports as needed.
- Coordinate member onboarding meetings, events, and follow-up to ensure a high-quality member experience thus securing retention goals and metrics.
- Support the planning, attendance goal and execution of ChamberEXEC, PR Media Training, and other programming that serves Premier members.
- Attend Chamber events and meetings and support the Events, Public Affairs, and Foundation teams with assigned tasks.
- Coordinate communications among staff, leadership, and board members to support targeted and effective member engagement efforts.
- Assist with logistics for Chamber trips and policy-related travel, including coordination with attendees, hotels, restaurants, and event venues.
- Support calendar management, appointment scheduling, and follow-up for the Director of Strategic Member Engagement and Vice President of Strategic Member Engagement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Experience in customer relationship management, member engagement, or account coordination.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build professional relationships with business and community leaders.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Experience with outreach, meeting coordination, and delivering responsive, high-quality service.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to anticipate challenges and identify solutions.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using CRM systems.
- Knowledge of Arizona’s key industries and broader business landscape
- Understanding of economic and public policy issues affecting businesses
- Ability to pass a background check, fingerprint clearance, and drug test.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with executives, boards of directors, or member-based organizations.
- Knowledge of the Greater Phoenix region, including local communities, business centers, and key attractions.
- Experience with Microsoft SharePoint.
- Experience planning business travel, events, or logistics.
