- 18 years of age, 3-5 years of experience in gymnastics setting
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Have strong communication skills with desire to meet everyone at their level of experience
- Enjoyment from working with children and keeping positive relationships with their parents
- USAG Safety Certification Preferred
- Provide a safe environment, encouraging, and supportive environment that allows members and participants to learn YMCA programs and have an enjoyable YMCA gymnastics experience in their specific progressive or competitive program
- Arrive at least 15 minutes before scheduled class and be prepared with equipment set up and ready to begin at scheduled time
- Evaluate program skills; complete progress reports for each session; complete communications for parents; complete incident reports; take attendance
- Assist in the instruction of program skills and character development objectives and techniques in accordance with YMCA standards
- Provide supervision to program participants and actively participate in all aspects of the program
- Wear proper attire in accordance with YMCA standards
- Manage participant behavior using collaborative approach with supervision and parents
- Follow approved positive support techniques to develop and refine gymnast’s skills
- Attend staff meetings and trainings as required
