Camp Program Director

Position Description: Camp Program Director
Reports to: Camp Director
Locations: John E. Reeves Cub World (Alpine, NJ), Ten Mile River Scout Camps (Narrowsburg, NY)
Description: Under the guidance of the Camp Director, the Camp Program Director provides leadership for their assigned camp’s classes and ensures program quality. The Program Director must be at least 21 years old. This person must be able to delegate duties to other and coordinate the efforts of all program staff members. The Camp Program Director must have a good knowledge of all phases of a good camp program. Current (within five years) certificate of training from a BSA Program National Camping School, or willingness to obtain, is also required. This person must live on-site and serve only in a program capacity. The Camp Program Director must be a registered member of the Boy Scouts of America and have a Scouting background.
Responsibilities: The Camp Program Director supervises the camp’s overall program, evaluates the program’s effectiveness and strives to meet the needs of units in camps. The Camp Program Director provides leadership to the section directors and ensures program quality. The Camp Program Director provides oversight over their assigned camp’s program supplies and ensures their program operates within budget. In the absence of the Camp Director and Assistant Camp Director, the Camp Program Director may function in a direct leadership role.
Specific Duties: The Camp Program Director’s specific duties include the following;

Develops a coordinated weekly program for units in camp, including youth, adult and unit level programing
Provide leadership to program staff and coordinate meetings as needs
Work with camp directors to identify program staff members
Evaluate the effectiveness and performance of the program staff members
All other duties as assigned
