Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role, located in New Bedford, Massachusetts, for a Director of Human Resources. The Director will oversee and manage HR operations, ensuring compliance with labor and employment laws, developing HR policies, and supporting employee relations. Responsibilities include handling performance management systems, aligning HR strategies with organizational goals, facilitating talent acquisition and retention, and fostering a positive workplace culture. The role involves ensuring best practices in human resource management and serving as a strategic partner to the leadership team.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Human Resources (HR) practices and the ability to develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational needs
- Strong knowledge of HR Policies, including developing, updating, and maintaining policies that comply with federal, state, and local laws
- Experience in Employee Relations, including conflict resolution, employee engagement, and fostering a positive work environment
- Expertise in Performance Management processes and tools to assess and enhance employee growth and organizational effectiveness
- In-depth understanding of Labor and Employment Law to ensure organizational compliance and manage labor relations
- Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exhibit professionalism in all HR activities
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree or Juris Doctor preferred)
- Five or more years of experience in an educational or vocational setting is advantageous
