Coordinator Behavioral Health

Shift Available: Monday - Friday -  8:30am - 5pm.

The Behavioral Health Coordinator role provides administrative support to patients and their family members to help them navigate community resources. This individual will also provide administrative support to behavioral health clinicians by scheduling appointments, coordinating care within New Bedford Community Health (the “Health Center”) and following up on discharge planning with local inpatient psychiatric hospitals.

6. Experience with patients with mental illnesses, and ability to provide emotional support as needed.

7. Communicates effectively in a culturally competent manner

8. Aware and sensitive to unique needs of patients with behavioral health and other related health conditions. 

9. A patient champion who defends and preserves the rights of patients.

10. Someone organized and has time management skills

11. Someone tech savvy who will document in the electronic health record.

What You’ll Need:

• High School Graduate or GED

• Fluency in Speaking, Writing, and Translating Spanish and English.

• Experience: 1 - 2 years experience working with community-based multi-cultural setting is preferred.

• Basic computer skills is required. (Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook)

• Hold a current CHW Certification (preferred) or be willing to begin process of obtaining within 1st year of employment.

• CPR is Required.
