Community Center Assistant Job Description: Excellent Customer Service Skills Must be able to communicate well - written & orally Open and/or close the center daily Monday thru Friday Work with the public on use & safety of the center Coordinate daily with the CC Director & Staff Perform daily cleaning duties, ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Light clean-up & maintenance of building Be a team player and also work well independently Assist w/setting & tearing down for Events & Programs Basic knowledge of computers, email & forms Handling payments and assisting with registration Other Desirable Skills: Can do positive attitude; enthusiastically motivated Will train the right candidate for the job Experience: Experience with youth, sports, and/or events preferred. Must be at minimum 18 years of age. Must have a valid Idaho driver’s license. Must be able to pass a drug test and background check. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred, but not required. Occasional evenings or Saturdays required, for scheduled events. Part-Time year-round, hourly position, scheduled up to 29 hours per week. Essential Physical Abilities: Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing, with or without reasonable accommodations that permits the employee to discern and dispense verbal instructions and communicate effectively with others in person, or via telephone. Sufficient visual acuity, with or without reasonable accommodations which permits the employee to comprehend and prepare written material and instructions; and react to physical activities. Sufficient manual dexterity that permits the employee to safely operate a motor vehicle and possible other park maintenance equipment, i.e., UTV’s, etc. Sufficient body flexibility, agility, strength, physical reflexes and stamina to participate in recreational needs. Capable of working in all weather conditions. Lift and/or move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds and work in a recreational environment, which involve muscular strain, such as walking, standing, stooping, bending, reaching, carrying, lifting, hearing, and seeing. Tolerate various noise levels from events and sport tournaments. Sufficient mental capability to utilize memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, and guided problem solving. Must have the ability to: Be on call, as needed for occasional emergency situations, to lock & unlock buildings, or fill in for an absentee employee when necessary.
