Join one of the nation’s most respected leaders in charitable giving - the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation and our national entity, Greater Horizons - as a Philanthropic Advisor. In this role, you’ll serve as a trusted partner to high-net-worth donors, families, and their advisors from across the United States - guiding them in creating impactful giving strategies. The Philanthropic Advisor simplifies and enhances charitable giving through donor-advised funds and other philanthropic tools, helping donors organize and maximize their support for causes across the nonprofit sector.
In this relationship-driven role, you’ll guide donors in strategic giving, manage a portfolio of philanthropic clients, and support charitable agency funds. You’ll collaborate with wealth managers, attorneys, and nonprofit leaders to help donors achieve impact aligned with their values. This full-time, exempt position reports to the Vice President of Philanthropic Services and is based in our Kansas City office, with local travel and hybrid flexibility after onboarding.
What You’ll Do:
- Build and manage relationships with donors, families, and their advisors
- Provide strategic guidance on charitable giving and legacy planning
- Manage multiple, evolving priorities with a strategic mindset, ensuring all donor requests are handled with precision.
- Anticipate client needs and proactively address potential challenges, demonstrating creative problem-solving skills.
- Oversee agency fund partnerships and investment reviews
- Contribute to donor education and engagement initiatives
- Collaborate across teams to deliver exceptional service
What You Bring:
- 5 years in family office, wealth management, or philanthropy
- Experience working with high-net-worth individuals and families
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Financial acumen and comfort with charitable tools
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Willingness to pursue 21/64 Certified Advisor designation
