Greater Kalamazoo Auto Auction is looking for qualified porters to help park and move cars.
REPORTS DIRECTLY TO: TRANSPORTATION MANAGER
Work Days:
- Monday 9am-5pm
- Tuesday 11am-5p
- Wednesday 11am - 6pm
- Thursday 10am-2pm
SUMMARY:
The Porter is responsible for helping move vehicles around our lot. The porter needs to exhibit superior customer service at all times while on lot.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Ensure vehicles have fuel before parking on spot.
- Ensure all fluid levels are good.
- Do not operate vehicles ‘hot’.
- Ensure all vehicles have windows up, keys in cup holder, doors unlocked, proper stock number ticket adhered to window and/or run sticker
- Ensure cars are parked in proper location based on run number in windshield on sale day.
- Start every vehicle in assigned lane prior to sale time. Lift hood on all vehicles that do not start. Roll down or crack driver’s side window.
- Parking vehicles on spot for sale.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of time sheet
- Work well independently as well as a team player.
- Timely communication of issues that may be deemed as detrimental to the success of operations to Management.
- Performs other duties as necessary.
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Previous driving or porter experience
- Skills: Should be highly organized, self motivated and self disciplined. Must be able to speak English fluently.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Environment: The environment of the Porter involves the moving of vehicles around the auction lot. Those working in this position are subject to temperature changes, all types of weather conditions, elevated noise levels and at times fumes and odors associated with vehicle exhaust at times
- Must be able to walk up to .5 Miles in all weather conditions.
- Able to work in exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
