POSITION SUMMARY:
Directs all aspects of membership for the branch including recruitment of new members, retention of existing members and supervision of assigned full-time and part-time staff. Develops, plans and implements new procedures and methods to achieve strategic goals. Localizes association-wide membership initiatives to ensure consistent member experience among all membership centers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Implements membership strategies that support recruitment of new members and retention of existing members. Creates a member-focused culture and models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Fosters a climate of belonging and resolves problems to ensure member satisfaction.
- Recruits, hires, trains, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Promotes program and membership enrollment in interactions with existing and potential members. Coordinates program registration, including logistics to support phone, walk-in and web registration. Coordinates with marketing efforts to maximize enrollments.
- Ensures membership staff, including the Membership Manager, Reception desk and Building Supervisor staff, has access to all necessary information to answer member inquiries, including, but not limited to; weekly branch updates, facility schedules, program information.
- Uses data to plan and execute strategies designed to improve member experience, tour-conversion rates and membership retention rates.
- Coordinates localized membership retention and sales initiatives, in line with association-wide membership strategies.
- Participates in the planning of the annual budget; manages and implements the approved budget for membership and takes appropriate action to correct variances
- Ensures proper implementation of front desk procedures. Reviews and updates desk procedures and communicates changes to staff.
- Oversee bi-weekly membership draft and collections processes abiding by all practices and procedures in place.
- Organizes membership events at the Y and represents the YMCA at community events to promote membership and program offerings. Facilitates requests for donations.
- Facilitates the administration of branch scholarship program from application receipt, through review, approval and renewal.
- Provides timely notice of scholarship award and enters subsidy and membership in Daxko.
- Provides scholarship renewal reminders to members up for renewal on a monthly basis.
- Assists in the marketing and distribution of program and membership information. Delivers material and/or makes phone calls as assigned.
- Provides branch leadership support for the annual fundraising campaign for the advancement of the association.
- Serves a Leader on Duty (LOD) as assigned.
- Works flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Participates in Membership cabinet and staff meetings and other related meetings.
- Additional responsibilities as appropriate within the scope of the position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous supervisory experience in customer service preferred.
- Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- CPR and First Aid certifications may be required.
Salary : $48,000 - $54,000
