Greater Iowa Credit Union is currently seeking someone who is ready to jump in and be responsible for applications like OnBase, IMM, and Laserpro. Applications Administrator manages and supports the credit union's financial and line-of-business applications (OnBase, IMM, and Laserpro), including associated integrations and interfaces. They are responsible for the overall health and functionality of assigned systems. This includes system functionality, performance, availability, and security. General activities include supporting the assigned applications, modifying system configurations, performing routine operating activities, applying updates, performing system upgrades, and managing system access and security controls. The Applications Administrator will work with stakeholders to understand business needs, and research, evaluate, and propose new solutions. They create backup and recovery processes and procedures, create and maintain system documentation, and participate in projects as a subject matter expert for their area.

Hours: Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm, with rotating on-call Saturday's 9am to 1pm. Some late nights due to applications upgrades.

Location: 1509 Baltimore Drive, Ames, IA 50010, hybrid work environment.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Administers the relevant and assigned systems. Administers system access and security as needed. Manages resources for planning, implementing, maintaining, monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting the systems under their responsibility, including automation, interfaces, and integrations.
  • Provides technical support to system users and researches and resolves system problems. Responds to requests for information and consults on system functionality, interfaces, and integrations.
  • Assists with short-term and long-term planning for financial and line-of-business systems. Meets with system stakeholders to understand business needs, and researches and proposes solutions.
  • May install and configure new packages and services. Applies system updates and performs upgrades. This may entail working outside of normal business hours, as needed.
  • Creates and maintains system documentation including data flow diagrams, backup, recovery processes and procedures. Performs regular backup and recovery testing.
  • Collaborates with the Information Security Officer on application security best practices and implements application security controls to meet information security objectives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. Participates in an on-call rotation.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience
Four years of application administration experience, or two years of information technology experience at a credit union, with specialized training scripting and database administration experience preferred.

Preference will be given to those candidates with bank or credit union experience.


Education:(1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).


Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

Other Skills
1. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows client and server operating systems
2. Knowledge of basic networking and ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues
3. Ability to review system logs and troubleshoot complex application issues
4. Familiar with database concepts, database query languages, and scripting languages
5. Ability to troubleshoot file-based interfaces and application programming interfaces (APIs)
6. Knowledge of application security concepts and best practices
7. Knowledge of web server hosted/delivered applications (aka Software as a Service)

While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Work is performed in a standard office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level.
