Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignments
- Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility with the appropriate teaching endorsement
- 2475 Students with Disabilities Instructional Certificate
- 2210 - Biological Science, 2270 - Chemistry, 2220 - Earth Science, 2240 - Physical Science OR 2260 - Physics Instructional Certificates are applicable
- Successful completion of required criminal history review background check and sexual misconduct/child abuse disclosure process
- Proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status
- Demonstrated knowledge of effective teaching methods and developmentally appropriate classroom activities
- Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
- Critical evaluation / thinking skills
- Demonstrable ethical decision making
- Effective professional and interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrable organization and prioritization skills
- Experience with Google (Docs, Sheets & Drive, Classroom)
Instruction and Curriculum Development:
- Develop and implement curriculum aligned with New Jersey Student Learning Standards.
- Plan and deliver effective lessons using diverse teaching methods.
- Provide individualized support to meet diverse student needs.
- Set clear objectives, assess understanding, and monitor academic progress.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with parents.
