Job Summary:

The Easton Ambassadors Team Lead (West Ward) supervises and coordinates the daily activities of the West Ward clean & safe team, ensuring excellent delivery of clean, safe, and hospitality services throughout the West Ward neighborhood. This position plays a key role in neighborhood revitalization, community engagement, and fostering team member growth while creating a cleaner, safer environment for residents and businesses.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

General Program Management

  • Supervise, motivate, and direct a team of 3-5 West Ward clean & safe associates during assigned shifts.
  • Communicate daily assignments, priorities, and special instructions to team members.
  • Provide on-the-job training and coaching to new and existing Ambassadors.
  • Monitor team performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Assist with orientation and training of new team members.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration.
  • Assist Manager with scheduling, time tracking, and attendance management.
  • Lead by example, actively participating in Ambassador duties while supervising team.

Clean & Safe Operations

  • Coordinate daily cleaning routes and assignments throughout the West Ward.
  • Monitor and participate in Safe Routes to school.
  • Address safety concerns with management or police as appropriate, within the neighborhood.
  • Report maintenance issues to appropriate entities (city departments, property owners, etc.).
  • Implement seasonal maintenance protocols (snow removal, leaf collection, etc.).
  • Respond to cleaning and safety requests from residents and businesses.
  • Ensure proper execution of litter removal, vacant lot cleaning, graffiti control, and other maintenance activities.
  • Monitor quality and thoroughness of cleaning operations, making adjustments as needed.
  • Track and document all cleaning activities including quantities of litter collected, graffiti removed, etc.
  • Oversee proper use and maintenance of cleaning equipment and supplies.

Community Engagement & Hospitality

  • Build and maintain relationships with West Ward residents, businesses, and community organizations.
  • Serve as a liaison between the neighborhood and the broader Ambassador program.
  • Coordinate community clean-up events and volunteer activities.
  • Document and respond to concerns from neighborhood stakeholders.
  • Collect resident input on neighborhood needs and priorities.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs of activities, incidents, and notable interactions.
  • Collect and compile data on team activities for program metrics and reporting.
  • Communicate regularly with Operations Manager about team performance and neighborhood needs.
  • Support West Ward Community Initiative programming as needed.

Equipment & Resource Management

  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment for West Ward operations.
  • Ensure proper use, care, and storage of all program equipment.
  • Monitor and request supply replenishment as needed.
  • Ensure all Ambassadors have appropriate uniforms and equipment for their duties.
  • Track usage of consumable supplies and materials.

Neighborhood Initiatives & Special Projects

  • Assist with implementing neighborhood improvement projects.
  • Coordinate Ambassador support for West Ward events and activities.
  • Participate in neighborhood meetings and community forums.
  • Help identify priority areas for clean and safe interventions.
  • Collaborate with community partners on neighborhood initiatives.
  • Assist with resident education on proper waste disposal, recycling, etc.
  • Support beautification efforts including plantings, gardens, and public spaces.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college education preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in community services or related field.
  • Experience in community engagement, neighborhood revitalization, or similar work preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate and direct team members.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to engage diverse community members.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications for reporting and communication.
  • Knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Familiarity with West Ward neighborhood, community organizations, and resources.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) highly desirable.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Work Schedule:

This position requires flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed. Shifts are typically 8 paid hours. Schedules may be adjusted to accommodate special events, seasonal needs, and program priorities.

This position is highly active and requires standing and walking throughout the entire shift. The employee must be able to traverse their assigned zone repeatedly during an 8-hour shift in various weather conditions. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and communicate verbally.

The employee must regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 40 pounds. The employee must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach regularly. The position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions, including hot, cold, wet, and windy environments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
