The Deputy Executive Director serves as the senior operational leader of the Greater Easton Development Partnership. The Deputy Executive Director translates GEDP’s strategic priorities into day-to-day execution, managing staff, overseeing organizational operations and financial performance, helping build GEDP’s institutional advancement program, and ensuring cross-program alignment and accountability.

The Deputy Executive Director joins at a consequential moment: GEDP is actively building out its communications and marketing infrastructure, launching a capital campaign, and executing on the 2026 convergence of America250, Lafayette College’s bicentennial, and destination marketing initiatives. The Deputy Executive Director will play a direct role in ensuring these functions are staffed, coordinated, and performing at a high level.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the organization’s day-to-day operational leader, providing consistent management of program managers across GEDP’s full portfolio of programs, properties, markets, and events
  • Builds staff capacity through coaching, professional development, and a culture of accountability
  • Manages cross-functional coordination and collaboration
  • Provides direct supervisory partnership to GEDP’s Manager of Marketing & Communications, ensuring GEDP’s marketing and communications function is integrated into organizational planning rhythms, adequately resourced, and aligned with upcoming organizational rebrand, capital campaign, and destination marketing initiatives
  • Helps steward organizational values, staff culture, and internal communications practices
  • Oversees volunteer program in partnership with volunteer coordinator and program managers
  • Helps build and manage GEDP’s institutional advancement program, establishing the infrastructure, systems, and practices needed to grow contributed revenue over time
  • Helps develop and launch a structured individual giving or membership program designed to broaden GEDP's donor base and deepen community investment in the organization's mission
  • Helps identify and cultivate regional and national foundation grant opportunities aligned with GEDP’s programs and strategic priorities
  • Coordinates the Board’s Advancement Committee, supporting member engagement, pipeline accountability, and gift tracking
  • Collaborates with the Executive Director on capital campaign preparation and early-stage implementation
  • Helps monitor organizational budget performance in coordination with the Controller and Executive Director
  • Manages grant compliance timelines, reporting requirements, and reimbursement workflows across GEDP’s active and growing grant portfolio
  • Identifies opportunities for new or expanded earned revenue from existing GEDP assets and programs
  • Prepares board meeting materials and strategic progress reports in coordination with the Executive Director
  • Coordinates staff presentations to the Board and supports increased Board engagement with GEDP’s programs and properties
  • Provides operational support to Board committees and assists with board development as the organization grows
  • Assists in implementing and sustaining GEDP’s organizational operating framework, including regular meeting rhythms, quarterly goal-setting, and structured issue resolution
  • Serves as a trusted thought partner to the Executive Director, helping to refine organizational priorities, identify operational gaps, and maintain strategic focus
  • Represents GEDP externally and internally in the Executive Director’s absence
  • Attends and supports GEDP events as needed, including festivals and programming that may occur on evenings and weekends

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Five (5) or more years of progressive nonprofit leadership experience, including direct supervision of professional staff; bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Demonstrated ability to manage internal operations, including budget oversight, grant compliance, and coordination across multiple programs and departments
  • Experience overseeing or partnering closely with a marketing and communications function; comfort serving as a strategic thought partner to a marketing & communications leader on brand, narrative, and campaign decisions preferred
  • Experience in nonprofit fundraising/development/advancement, including individual giving, foundation relations, or corporate partnerships
  • Familiarity with the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) or similar organizational operating frameworks preferred
  • Experience with place-based community development, Main Street programs, or economic development organizations preferred
  • Capital campaign planning or management experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Pennsylvania grant and tax credit programs,(NAP, MTF, EITC, Main Street Matters) or comparable state funding streams preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to represent GEDP externally with credibility, warmth, and authority across diverse stakeholder audiences
  • Proven capacity to move initiatives from concept to completion in a fast-paced, multi-program, event-driven environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace; familiarity with project management tools and donor management systems
  • Strong communicator with excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization and with external partners
  • Genuine commitment to Easton’s community and alignment with GEDP’s mission of nurturing the city’s economic well-being and cultural vibrancy

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate, either verbally and/or in writing. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must have the ability to sit for the majority of the work day at a workstation, at a computer.

The employee frequently is required to lift up to 10 pounds frequently, and up to 25 pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation. Employee is occasionally required to travel offsite for business meetings, community events, and festivals as needed. The employee may be required to work evenings and weekends during GEDP events and programs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
