Job Summary
The Director of Membership is a vital support role and is a key to the overall growth, engagement, and retention of the association’s membership. They oversee membership recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies, ensuring the delivery of value and service to members. The role includes building strong relationships with current and prospective members, managing membership services, and working closely with the Executive Director and Association team to develop and implement membership growth strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Membership Recruitment and Retention:
- Develop and implement membership recruitment strategies to increase membership growth.
- Oversee retention initiatives to engage current members and reduce drops.
- Develop campaigns and initiatives aimed at different membership segments to drive engagement.
- Monitor and report on membership trends, satisfaction, and areas for improvement.
2. Member Engagement and Services:
- Serve as the staff liaison on the Membership Committee.
- Collaborate with the Membership Committee to define and implement the long-term membership growth strategy.
- Work cross-functionally with the events, marketing, communications, and education teams to ensure alignment with membership goals. Collaborate to create initiatives that address member needs, enhance satisfaction, and deliver high-quality member services.
- Propose innovative membership models, benefits, and engagement tactics based on industry trends.
3. Member Database:
- Keep membership database updated (Novi) and ensure data integrity and accurate reporting.
- Utilize ALN report to assist in keep membership date up to date, including but not limited to ALN Weekly Report
- Analyze data to identify trends, measure the effectiveness of recruitment/retention efforts, and provide insights for decision-making.
- Track membership growth, engagement, and program effectiveness.
4. Other Responsibilities:
- Assist with budgeting
- Assist with accounts payables and receivables
- Foster partnerships with industry organizations, corporations, and other associations to provide value to members.
- Assist in coordinating, planning, and implementing events/programs including sponsorship and attendance
- Maintain a professional, positive, and pleasant attitude able to interact and communicate positively and provide a high level of customer service
- Handle confidential and non-routine information
- Acquire complete knowledge of any association changes to update membership
- Team-oriented and treat fellow employees with respect
- Use Microsoft Office, G Suite products, Novi and QuickBooks
- Assist with the GDAA Rent Foundation as needed. Applications and phone calls
- Answer phones as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
